What it says: Cetaphil Cleansing lotion is a non-soap & lipid free lotion that allows gentle and thorough cleansing without the irritation associated with harsh soaps and cleansers. It is speacilly formulated to be non-drying and non-irritating. It's non alkaline pH of 6.3 to 6.5 approximates the normal skin pH and thereby does not disrupt the normal balance of the skin.
Cetaphil Cleansing lotion is fragrance free and non-comedogenic. It has emollient properties , which leave the skin soft & supple

Preservatives

Butyl hydroxybenzonate BP --- 0.025% w/w (butyl paraben)
in a lotion base with propylene glycol (moisturizer & solvent. It hydrates and increases moisture in skin's texture and tone. Propylene glycol will lessen the amount of flaking and dryness in skin.)
Price: Rs. 115 for 125 ml bottle
What I like:
1. True to it's name - it is very gentle. It cleanses very gently but at the same time it does not dry out skin.
2. Does not sting or irritate the skin or acne
3. Simple ingredient list - no fragrance to further irritate the skin, also it claims to be comedogenic
What I don't like
1. It doesn't remove makeup very effectively - so in the evening I need to double cleanse with Jergens first
2. Tends to feel medicated - thanks to the bland smell & feel - plus the long list of chemical sounding ingredients.
3. Has parabens.
Will I repurchase: Do I have an option, thanks to all this random acne attack that is happening? :-P
I will re-purchase this because it does seem to be the only cleanser I can use right now (Lush Fresh Farmacy proved to be too drying when used twice a day) - it doesn't sting & at the same time doesn't dry out my skin. But I am uncomfortable using all these parabens & propylene glycol on my face - it is just that an acne attack after almost 2 years caught me off guard & in confusion I just got what seemed the most mild. I guess I'll stick with this for the next few months until I get the hang of what to do for the skin.
PS: I big hug & thanks to all of you for responding so warmly to my post yesterday - I got so many suggestions from all of you, I was really touched that you took out the time & made the effort to help me out. Thanks a lot gals, what would I do without you all! :-D

I've been tempted to try this on numerous occasions, but I haven't since it is for dry & sensitive skin. Do you think it's good for oily skin?
ReplyDeleteI am being 101% honest here... Yes.. I was waiting for a review of this product and here it is !!!!! Thanks a looooot Tanveer.. I am getting this :)
ReplyDeleteI use it whenever my skin starts feeling too dry
ReplyDeleteMy 57-year-old skin is very sensitive and VERY dry. I've never liked to use creams on my face because they either sit there on the surface or feel greasy or are too smelly or get in my eyes or break my face out. Made From Earths Vitamin Enhanced Moisturizer does none of the above.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first put it on my face, my skin literally felt grateful; I don't know how else to say it. There was no heavy odor, and my skin drank the moisturizer in like it was dying of thirst. It probably was! The first night, I kept putting on more until I felt my skin had had enough. After that, I've smoothed on just a little each night before bed.
I didn't want to talk about the vitamin enhanced moisturizer until I'd used it a few weeks, and now that I have I've got to say I absolutely love it. My face looks brighter, my skin feels good, and yet it's like I don't have anything on my face. It's like my own skin, but 20+ years younger. I don't wear makeup, so I don't know how makeup would do on top of this, but I can't imagine it would do anything but improve your appearance.
Highly recommended product.
