It's Official! Ponds TM is being Discontinued :(

Ponds Tinted Moisturiser - I miss you already!!
Sit down now. I know, I feel just as bad as you.

It is confirmed, from the horse's mouth (aka Mother Brand Unilever) that Ponds Tinted Moisturizer is being discontinued.

I'm on my last bottle halfway. I stopped using it daily a month back after it suddenly disappeared from shelves as I wanted to make it last longer. I honestly don't know what to use as a daily quick base instead. It was just pure perfection.

I'm gonna go & sulk a bit today, maybe drown my sorrows in a cafe mocha at Bru. The Thinker in me gets their economics, but the Feeler (channeling MBTI here), is feeling so, so sad. This was my desert island product. I have been using this one for the last three years & have bought so many bottles of this! I have given away this to family & friends, hard sold it like I was getting commission for it (I wish!)

I will miss you Ponds TM. More than any other makeup or skincare product ever! I favored you over MAC & Biotique & Maybelline and this is what you do?

Why do all good things, have to come to an end? :(

The rest of you, if you love it, and see it anywhere, stock up!

Goodbye Ponds TM! Now I just go & wail in my room! Waaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!

      I *almost* want to hate them for doing this.. but then if it really isn't selling well, what can they also do..

      Girls Its not that the TM wasn't selling well it was a category starter when it was launched in India.
      Now come & think like a Marketing Manager-
      "Hmm now I have taken a 20% growth on my Year on Year target how to achieve it- Ok what is my high selling low margin product- Oh its Ponds TM- Hmmm now that category is heating up and margins are stagnating / declining how do I milk this cash cow product- Okay brainstorming time everyone!
      Result of the brainstorming-OK so new entrants in this category are here in the market,our product is better and priced cheaper.Lets re package/re-name & re-launch the product with 150% mark up and position it as a premium Tinted moisturizer"
      Don't believe me just check out my post on Ponds Age Miracle serum.Ponds first discontinued it & then relaunched it with 234 % price jump!!! Wait a while TM will be back, just be ready to fork out more moolah for it..

    incase "Ponds India" is reading it..This is the only ever ponds product I have re-bought...So y discontinue? Gimme better reason than economics. So many companies sell products wihtout earning too much coz it is a popular products that has earned the brand a good name.
    Is ponds just here for money the money?? And you wont come back with tinted moisturizer if the Indian market gets flooded with them..or will you jus ignore this whole debacle and jump right in??

      I agree! I have re-purchased this more times than anything else ever! I was so loyal to this, I rated MAC as worse off. I too found it hard to believe that it was not selling well enough. I in fact told them that Chetna of Stylecraze shared once on twitter that it was amongst their top selling prdts. I don't understand how it didn't sell as much.

      if i may add, i can understand this not doing well..but honestly whose fault is it??? couldn't ponds have better advertised this product??? their entire age miracle range is all over the tv & magazines yet the TM never finds any mention!!

    I don't know how good products like these are discontinued. I really used to like Colorbar's nail strengther, which has been discontinued now.

      I think companies shd tell us before discontinuing.. if they send PRs when launching, why not let us know that it is not being sold as well.

    Honestly i dont know what i will do without this TM!! It was my no fuss, no complaint TM during summer! DAMMMITTTTT! I dont know what else can be this affordable and this good!!

      I'm in a similar state myself. Feeling so clueless. This was easy to use, very good quality & it was priced really well! I kept hoping there will be relaunch :(

    Any alternatives tanz...the maybelline bb doesnt come close IMO anything else? Kiehls TM is supposed to be crazy good but so expensive :(

      I had tried the MAC one ages ago & it gave a similar finish but it was slightly less moisturising. But it costs 1000 bucks..

      Maybelline BB is okay, but no where close. I don't know what else can be used instead.

    oh no...it is one of the products I *actually* buy again n again. exactly maybelline bb cream has its mood swings, smtyms it works n smtyms doesnt. but this ALWAYS work. ok now i will use d bb cream on less important days just to make mine last longer. and do let us know if u find any alternative

    I love this one too! I picked it up this time when I came to India & fell in love. Was planning on stocking up too by asking someone to get it when they come. Too bad, Ponds! :(

    no no no no...this is not happening...plz shit...i have just read the headline of this post...god no...i can't take this..surely we can do something...write a petition...beauty bloggers unite,...this is the one thing i have loved over all else...my last bottle is like 1/4th over..what do ido now??? what replaces this???

      I think the beauty bloggers should send their reviews to the Pond's PR people to see that this one product do have many admirers and these were always out of stock online/offline, so it must have been a hot selling product..then why stop it's supply???!!!

    What a shock! I never tried the ponds TM & now I regret it. I had bought biotique's TM & wanted to finish it before trying the ponds one. Unfortunately, I haven't used the biotique one at all.

    This was the ONLY product I wld buy without browsing thru other brands n products..nvr even thought of looking for a replacement, was so totally loyal n nvr questioned it once..

    Wht else does Ponds hav to offer tht is as fab as TM??
