Addicted to Blush Awards 2009

Inspired by Allure’s 2009 list of beauty award winners, I decided to put up my own list. Of course this is not a comprehensive list and this is limited to my experiences only with the products below.

Foundation

Medium to thick coverage: No winners here. Have tried Streetwear as well as Maybelline matt dream mousee. Neither impressed me. Any reccos?

Light coverage:
Ponds Age Miracle Tinted Moisturizer with spf 15: It moisturizes, protects and makes your skin glow. What else could you ask for? Only for those who need sheer coverage.

Concealor
No winners. Haven’t come across a decent one as yet. Any recommendations?

Powder
Maybelline white stay UV with spf 18 slips into the purse easily and reduces shine on the go

Eyeshadow
Lakme Quad Desert Rose: has coppery red, goldens, shimmery browns to work your eyes with. This is a good quad with eyeshadow colors that suit most skin tones and looks.

Eyeliner

Liquid
Elle 18 liquid eyeliner still rules the roost here for me. It is cheap, quick dying and water proof.

Pencil: there are a whole ton of contenders here. I think I would have to say there is tie between
Lakme Glide on eye color in Heena Gold, Purple and Baked Bronze
Colorbar i-define eyeliner in Moss green and truffle

Mascara
Maybelline Define a lash for day
Maybelline colossal volume mascara for night

Blush:
Powder: Jordana powder blushes are matt beauties available in 8 different shades ranging from Rose Silk (a reddish blush) to sandalwood (a very natural looking pink peach) to terracotta (a peachy beauty). At 120 a piece, I never feel guilt for indulging in these beauties.

Gel: none. The lakme tint color payoff is quite good, but needs very, very quick blending skills. Each time I use it I kind of feel like am I running after a Virar local and trying to get in (in other words, rushed, harried & paniced)

Cream: No winners here.

Lipstick
Lipliner: Lakme glide on lip color in rose and honey are pretty colors for even using by themselves. And they have tremendous staying power

Gloss: Lakme lip gloss in no 21. A shimmery strawberry color. Very girly.

Tint: The body shop cheek and lip tint. For that natural flush without the texture. The ultimate in no make-up look.

Lipbalm: Nivea Strawberry lip balm. Love the smell, love the color!

As you can see I have left a few categories empty. Recommendations are most welcome!

  1. I use Colorbar's concealer and I am quite happy with it. It is a stick concealer and absolutely non messy. I'll do a review for you in a day or two.

I liked the chambor's concealer as well. And there are some great reviws for revlon's age defying concealer.
