Kara Makeup Removal Wipes - Review

What it claims: Kara makeup removal wipes is an effective way to remove all makeup from the face. It is enriched with lavender extract which cleanses and gives a relaxing effect to the skin while the seaweed extract revitalises and nourishes the skin. More importantly it is made from Birla Cellulose, a fibre that is 100% natural and bio-degradable

Key Ingredients: Aqua, Lauryl Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, PEG - 20 Methyl Glucose Sequestrate, Glycerine, Aloe vera gel, Lavender Extract, Seaweed Extract, Chelating Agent, Preservatives & Fragrance. Alcohol Free.

Price: Rs. 45 for 10 wipes.

Pros:

1. It takes off all makeup like a dream. 2-3 swipes over the most resistant liner and it all melts off.
2. The fabric of the tissue feels nice and soft against delicate under eye area, it also smells quite refreshing.
3. Does not dry out skin.

Cons:
1. This will not take off your waterproof mascara. It will start to melt it a little bit, but it involves too much tugging & pulling at the lashes and it won't dissolve it completely. You might end up with raccoon eyes and broken lashes.
2. The pack does tend to dry out after 6 to 8 weeks of opening.

Will I re-purchase: For occasional use, yes. It is convenient to carry this, and it is very useful if you have a social engagement after office. Just wipe off old makeup, and apply a fresh layer. This is also very good in case some makeup emergency happens when touching up while travelling or saving time by cleansing on your way back from a function.

However do keep in mind that makeup removal tissues are not a complete solution by themselves to remove makeup. It is always better to follow up with a splash of water or use a toner like rosewater to ensure that pores don't get blocked.

  9. Wet wipes scare me a little because of the amount of tugging I have to do on my skin to get them to work.I would prefer cotton and rose water any day over wipes. But these can be a godsend during emergencies.

  13. Hi All

I am the brand manager for Kara, and am happy to see so many positive reactions about the product.
We will take each feedback and try to improve our products.
However to clarify the oily skin after use of makeup remover wipe, we have added a gentle lotion on purpose in our Make Up Remover wipes, as makeup dries the skin and deoxidates it. The idea is to re-energize your skin as the makeup is being removed, hence the oily feel!

Would urge all of you to try all variants of Kara, which are Sunscreen, Deep Pore Cleansing, Toning, Refreshing, moisturising and of course Makeup removal wipes.

For summers, we would recommend refreshing and sunscreen wipes!
