Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion - Review

Now that I had tried the cleanser, I had to try the moisturising lotion too!

It claims: Non-comedogenic Cetaphil® Moisturizing Lotion has a non-greasy formulation that is mild, non-irritating and long lasting. This gentle moisturizing formula contains emollients and humectants that bind moisture to the skin. This fragrance-free moisturizer contains no lanolins or parabens.

IngredientsWater, Glycerin, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil (Macademia Nut Oil), Dimethicone, Tocopheryl Acetate, Stearoxytrimethylsilane, Stearyl Alcohol, Panthenol, Farnesol, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid.

Price: Rs. 200 for 100 ml

Indications: Dry Skin Conditions

What I liked:

1. Highly moisturizing, it instantly calms dry skin & forms a light film on top of the skin. Most moisturisers that are this softening tend to be greasy (like cold cream) - this one combines intense moisture with minimum greasiness.

2. Fragrance & Paraben - free

3. It does not sting or irritate dry or flaky skin at all

4. It is a perfect base for addition of essential skin oils. Once a month, mix a drop of your fav skin oil (I like sesame) into 2-3 drops of this & apply. Best left on overnight for a creamy treat for the skin.

5. Didn't cause any acne.
What I didn't like:
1. It gets a little greasy after a while, feels thick on the skin. I hate the feel of this, esp during these hot humid months.

Would I re-purchase: It is a very good, fuss-free moisturizer that works instantly. But I would never wear this during the day, it feels very thick & stifling. I would keep a bottle around though to apply during the night, sometimes my skin takes a bit of beating thanks to me being negligent with my night cream. This lotion is a perfect overnight solution to deal with my negligence.

  9. Yep, I have been using Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion for a while now and its indeed quite nice. Especially during winters here in Australia. Wouldn't recommend using it in other seasons though since its a heavy moisturiser.
