This is how you don't do it...

Unless you are headed to an 80's theme party..

& I suspect Ms. Rituparna (or is it Rituporna?) SenGupta is headed to one all time in her head.

Am I the only one who thinks she needs a makeup intervention & a few tips from Ms. Kareena Kapoor (that babe is always in perfect, up to date, great makeup -I'm beginning to envy her now)

I'm sure the lady is a fine artist, just a bit of sprucing up on her makeup (time to ditch that matt maroon lipstick, like yesterday) & she'd look just as hot.

Read on for some visual proof of what I say....

If your smoky eyes look anything like that, wipe them off & start afresh

What advice would you give Ms. Sengupta here?

  1. SHOCKED :O one would look better without make up than with make like this :O

  2. OMG!! ROTFL!!! she really needs help! either from a make up artist or a Psychiatrist!! In fact i am not a fan of rahki sawant's, but usually even her make up is much more decent...unless she is one of her mental avatars! :D

  3. She always looks this bad... even on the silver screen. Somehow she doesn't know how to make the most of her brown eyes and dusky skin. And maybe she cuts costs by not hiring a makeup artist?

  4. lol...she looks funny in that lipstick...

  5. that woman is pretty, but her makeup makes her look scary. she needs a make UNDER! she looked so gorgeous in that movie with rajpal yadav.

  6. Definitely you are not the only one Tanz. Even I keep telling my mum, fine artist she is, but she definitely lacks both make up skills and dressing sense. Actually she is stuck to the Indian fascination of Maroons and browns and doesnt know how to do her make up nicely. Look at the white foundie she is wearing!!!

  7. eewwwwwww...all i feel like getting her a cleansing milk :P

i think she is doing her mkaeup all by herself..lolz

  8. LOL tanz.....a piece of advice would all the lovely blogs out here...
    I agree with anamika..totally

  9. that maroon lipstick's gotta be her favourite!! She's be so much prettier with a natural look and a bit or eyebrow grooming...oh yea lets not forget a stylist! She's got such beautiful features to begin with, but she's going the total opposite way with them! :/

  10. Hahaha...I don't even know who she is! It's time she hires a MUA....or fire her present one. 2nd pic is ZOMG! :D

  11. @CZ, Scarlet: She's an actress.. google for Rituparna Sen Ghosh.. you shd find her :)

@All: I agree, she is either doing her own makeup, in which case she shd do some simple course with Ms. Chitragandha's MUA to pick up some skills on how to best showcase her skin & eyes.. I hope to God, this is not some MUA's work!!

  12. I like her...but the lipstick is such a turn off!!

Hey have given you some awards at my check them out :)

  13. Yeah she looked so pretty n decent in the muvi wid Rajpal Yadav... luvd her in tht muvi... I actually like her as an actress bt, dont like her make up & dressing sense in social events. :(

  14. Oh my she looks crazy. hahaha

  15. OMG..!! n what on earth is she wearing..!! I got scared seeing the 2nd pic..:/

  16. Arghhh!!! oh sweet Lord my eyes are bleeding after seeing those skanky outfits and jarring makeup. And those eyebrows????!!!- Its straight to 'Eyebrows Bootcamp' for you Lady!

  17. Ewww!!! What's with the dark lippies!!! sheeesh! She would look so much better with natural makeup!

  18. Hi check my blog given you some awards..

  19. @tanveer...have presented u with an award

  20. she is indeed a very good actress. she has done some fabulous bengali movies. but i hate her makeup and dressing sense. she is so loud all the time. she looks way more gorgeous in natural makeup. u must see her in the movies like Choturongo or Paromita'r akdin or Dahan. she looks so pretty and elegant in those. god knows why she doesn't get that. :-/ and Tanveer, i think her name is Rituporna SenGupta. :))

  21. I love your blog! I wish I had only discovered it sooner. I am a new beauty blogger and love to read all of your posts. :)

  22. this is awesome Tanz :D :D i love her acting but her makeup is always over the top and she def. needs good makeup remover...

  23. OMG what is WRONG with thiswoman!

  24. She is so beautiful, but her makeup is awful! and on top of that flash photography has turned her into a real life horrendous disaster :(

Reetha, Amla & Shikakai Home Made Shampoo - Weekend Experiment

Good Morning Lovelies, I hope your weekend was fun. Mines was, well, ho-hum, but anyways, we are not talking about that here (let’s save that cribbing for twitter).
I have been suffering from quite a bit of hair fall since some time. I have tried changing products to using intensive conditioning and the works. It stops the hair fall for while, but then it rears its ugly head again.
So on lark, & for lack of better things to do, my best friend & I decided to make some Reetha – Amla – Shikakai shampoo at home. This century old ayurvedic herbal concoction is reputed to not only strengthen hair, but also darken it and stop hair fall.
I got the 3 biggies from a local kirana store. All 3 are priced at 15 Rs for 100gms.

How to: Soak 5 pieces of Shikakai, 4 balls of Reetha  (Soapnut) & handful of Amla (Indian Gooseberry)  in about 500 ml of water overnight. In the morning, heat the mixture on gas till it just starts to boil. Let it cool, when lukewarm mash all the amla, reetha and…

Skin Care Myth: Sunscreen will stop you from Tanning

Image via Wikipedia I know I did a recent article on skin care myths (read it here), but I don't know how I forgot to mention this particular myth. In any case I think this warranted a post on its own.

Myth: If I use a suncreen regularly and religiously, I will not tan.

Fact: This is a very simplistic statement. But before I bust this myth, kindly bear through a science lecture. This is to bring all readers of all backgrounds on the same knowledge level.

Lets define sunscreen (from Wikipedia):Sunscreen (also commonly known as sunblock or sun cream) is a lotion, spray, gel or other topical product that absorbs or reflects "some" of the sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation on the skin exposed to sunlight and thus helps protect against sunburn. Sunscreen helps protect only against direct DNA damage as it cannot dissipate UV as harmless heat.

The SPF of a sunscreen is a laboratory measure of the effectiveness of sunscreen — the higher the SPF, the more protection a sunscreen …

I made "Washed Ghee" at home and it turned out great!

Yesterday I posted about the importance of fat in our diet. While doing research for the same I came across the recipe for "Washed Ghee" or Shata Dhaut Ghrita (100 times washed ghee).

After I read about this miracle at home cream, it was inevitable that I would try to create this cream myself. All I needed apparently was some cow ghee & water.

So I made it last evening. And here is how it went.

For those readers who haven't read the earlier post: Hundred times washed ghee is prepared from organic cow milk ghee by washing it in purified water, repeatedly, 100 times in a copper vessel, using a specific prescribed method while chanting some mantras

This procedure transforms the ghee into a soft, cooling, nourishing, silky unguent that is used as a traditional moisturizer and anti wrinkle skin cream. It produces radiant and glowing skin, especially for people with easily inflamed skin. It can be used as a daily face and body moisturizer or for facial massage. Apply it for…
