Colorbar Blushes - Ingredient Discrepancy
Yesterday when I wrote the review for Colorbar Blushes, something caught my eye as inconsistent.
You see, on the site the company claims that this blush is "Talc Free", I quote "talc free, silky powder". The moment I read this, I was confused, because I remembered very distinctly reading Talc listed as the first ingredient on the outer cardboard pack.
Yesterday I went home & checked, there it was on my outer cardboard box of both my blushes. The key ingredient list had TALC as the first ingredient.
Now there are some people who feel that Talc is not good for health as it is suspected to be a carcinogen. Read more here
Now I am not one of those people, I am ok using this Talc containing blush as it not been *conclusively* proven as such to harmful. But I don't like the fact that Colorbar advertises this as Talc - Free on its site when it so clearly has Talc listed as number 1 ingredient on the box.
I don't know if there has been a typo - either on the site or on the packaging. But it seems stupid that no one from Colorbar has noticed this till now. The Blushes have been in the market for like a year now.
Now I am thinking is this inadvertent, or on purpose. Market a product as safe, toxin free, natural, healthy, organic, but actually they are no different.
I wonder how many such false claims are made everyday by companies that go unnoticed.

Tanz...i think almost 90 % skin care and cosmetic companies do not reveal the true ingredients...
ReplyDeletethis is hwy i prefer using herbal remedies as much as possible..
Tanveer- good detective work there...i wouldv never noticed
ReplyDeleteHey great work Tanveer....And I do agree with Anamika. Herbal products are the best...Love your blog coz of these things which you write are different from the others.
ReplyDeleteo_O Glad you noticed that! I'm a bit shocked! Not because the product might contain talc, but because they thought about hiding it. I have had my eye on the peach rose blusher for ages, but I'm now wondering if I should get it. On principle I am against any kind of lying and hiding. This really irks me even though I do not have anything against products that use talc.
ReplyDeleteIn recent times, my esteem for colorbar had increased because I saw them as a brand that valued the customer by offering varied products of good value, at good prices. This upsets me a little.
Thanks for bringng this to our notice Tanveer !
ReplyDeleteThink I should really start taking proper note of the ingredients here after. This is pretty shocking coz when it has talc how can they explicitly declare it as Talc - free ???
ReplyDeleteGreat research Tanveer! I just did a review on Milani Minerals Blush and it says talc-free...I am not sure if I have the label, but I wanna check now and Milani's website does not list ingredients.Lord knows!!
ReplyDeleteGood job!!
ReplyDeleteIt is stupid that no one has noticed that!!Seems fishy...
